Why teams choose Springbase over Granola

Every Granola figure on this page comes from their own pricing page and documentation, linked on each row. Here is where the two products diverge.

On a 1:1, we know who spoke — we don't infer it

Our Mac app captures your microphone and your computer's audio as two separate tracks, so on a one-to-one call the channel is the speaker. Granola's own documentation describes falling back to 'Me' and 'Them' with the AI inferring speakers from context outside a short list of supported apps.

Covers the calls you don't attend

Device capture only works while audio is playing on a machine you are using. Springbase also runs a calendar notetaker that joins Zoom, Google Meet, and Teams whether or not you show up — and it can import existing audio files, which Granola does not support.

A workspace, not a notes app

Granola Chat answers questions about your meetings. Springbase gives you 61 AI models, editable plans you approve before they run, finished documents and dashboards in Canvas, and agents that act across 1,000+ connected apps — for a flat $9.99 rather than $14 per seat.

Inside Springbase

What finishing the work looks like

1

From note to approved plan

Plan Mode takes what was said and proposes the steps — you edit them, approve them, and watch them run. The note stops being a record of the meeting and becomes the start of the work.

2

The deliverable, not a description of it

Canvas produces the finished thing: the proposal, the dashboard, the client update, drafted from the conversation and your documents. Not bullet points about what to write — the writing.

3

Follow-ups that actually go out

Agents act across 1,000+ connected apps — Gmail, Slack, HubSpot, Notion, Linear — with an approval step before anything leaves the building. The meeting's outcomes land in the tools your team already uses.

The real comparison

Notes are one line. The work is the rest.

Granola covers the note. The AI you ask things and the layer that moves work between apps are separate bills. Per person, per month, at list price:

Springbase Starter does all three jobs — meetings, the AI you ask, and agents that move work between apps. Pro at $19.99 adds every frontier model and still comes in under a single ChatGPT Plus seat.

If you are on a Mac, this takes five minutes

1

Sign up free — no credit card, no sales call.

2

Install the companion app on an Apple silicon Mac for local and in-person capture.

3

Connect Google Calendar or Outlook so the notetaker can cover calls you miss.

4

Run both on the same week and compare what each leaves behind.

Two practical notes: local device recording needs an Apple silicon Mac, so Windows users get the calendar notetaker for Zoom, Meet, and Teams instead — which covers the calls they attend and the ones they miss. And we cannot import existing Granola notes, so Springbase starts from your next meeting.

Questions people actually ask

Does Springbase run on Windows?

Yes — the full web app works anywhere, and the calendar notetaker for Zoom, Google Meet, and Teams runs from any browser on any operating system, including calls you do not attend. The companion app for local and in-person recording is currently an Apple silicon Mac build, with iOS for recording on the move.

Do you store meeting audio?

Not after transcription. Local recordings are deleted from your machine once uploaded, and bot recordings are deleted as soon as the transcript is ingested — so what persists is the transcript and the work built from it, not a media library sitting in storage waiting to be subpoenaed.

How is your speaker identification different?

Our Mac app records your microphone and your computer's audio as two separate tracks, so on a 1:1 the channel itself identifies the speaker rather than the AI guessing. On group calls recorded locally, all remote participants share one channel — for multi-party attribution the calendar notetaker does better.

Can Springbase record a meeting I don't attend?

Yes, through the calendar notetaker on Zoom, Google Meet, and Teams. A device-capture tool cannot — it only hears what is playing on a machine you are using.

Is Springbase cheaper?

Yes — $9.99 flat against $14 per seat, and the gap widens with every person you add, because we never bill per user. You also get 61 AI models, Plan Mode, Canvas, and agents across 1,000+ apps in that price, rather than notes alone.

Same meetings. More of the work done.

Start free and put Springbase on a week of real calls. The difference shows up in what you have finished by Friday, not in the notes themselves.
