Springbase Functional Head (Sales): Candidate Assignment
Time: about 2 hours of effort. Deadline: 48 hours after you receive this. Format: a short doc or slides, maximum 4 pages or 5 slides. Follow-up: a 20-minute walkthrough (10 minutes presenting, 10 minutes Q&A).
Background
Springbase is an all-in-one AI subscription platform launching in Nepal in 2027. Plans are priced per seat, from Rs. 1,499 to Rs. 29,999 per month, with custom Enterprise pricing.
You are being considered as a Functional Head in the Sales team. You would own one discipline, work hands-on and report to a Sales Lead. You should assume you start without a team and without an existing customer list.
Use public information and your own judgement. You do not need inside knowledge of Springbase. Where you make an assumption, say so.
Part 1: Choose your target
- Choose one customer segment in Nepal to approach first. Examples are IT and software companies, colleges, agencies, banks and finance firms, or growing MSMEs. Say why you chose it.
- Define the ideal customer in 3 to 4 lines: size, type of organisation, and the problem an AI subscription would solve for them.
- List 10 real organisations in that segment. For each, give the person or job title you would contact and one reason they might care now.
Part 2: Reach out
- Design a 4-touch sequence over 14 days using LinkedIn and email. Show the channel, day and purpose of each touch.
- Write two of the messages in full: the first message and one follow-up. Aim them at one real contact from your list.
- Write short replies to these three responses:
- "Send me more details."
- "We already use ChatGPT."
- "This seems expensive for us."
Part 3: Numbers and ways of working
- Build a 30-day activity plan. Show how many accounts, touches, replies, conversations and booked demos you are aiming for. Show the maths and state your assumptions about reply and booking rates.
- Name the 3 numbers you would report to the Sales Lead every week, and say why.
- Describe how you would record what works (message wording, objections, timing) so a new colleague could repeat it in their first week.
Optional alternative for field-sales roles
If you are applying for the Enterprise & MSME or the Institutional & Public Sector discipline, replace Part 2, step 3 with a one-page plan for a first in-person meeting. Include how you would open, the 5 discovery questions you would ask, and the next step you would propose, such as a pilot.
What we will look at
- Whether your target segment and named accounts are realistic for Nepal.
- Whether your messages are specific to the person and focus on their problem, not on a feature list.
- Whether your numbers are sensible and your assumptions are honest.
- Whether you think clearly about learning and improving, not only about sending more messages.
A focused, honest answer is better than a long one. Please be ready to explain every assumption you made.
